Leonardo Folgoni, a recent graduate in Ingegneria Informatica (Computer Engineering), and Aurora Mantelli, a graduate in Building Engineering and Architecture, both from the University of Brescia, are among the winners of the first edition of the "Sustainable and Safe Building" award at Startup Days 2025, with their project Pratifly.
The competition, promoted by the Lombardy Region in collaboration with MUSA Scarl, Lombardy's universities and university incubators, aims to support the creation of new innovative companies in the construction sector, fostering co-innovation between startups and large companies to meet the challenges of a sector increasingly focused on sustainability, safety, and digitalization.
From over 230 applications and 41 finalists, Leonardo and Aurora stood out, winning a €25,000 prize, part of a total prize pool of €150,000 earmarked for the best solutions for more efficient and sustainable construction.
Their idea, Pratifly, is an innovative software designed for technical firms, architects, engineers, and construction professionals. It functions as a true digital copilot, guiding technicians through the entire construction process: from identifying the correct procedures to the automated management of deadlines, costs, and prerequisites.
Through an interactive graphic roadmap and contextualized information based on the location of the project, Pratifly simplifies bureaucracy, optimizes professionals' daily work, and reduces the risk of errors or delays. The system also sends customizable notifications regarding timelines and deadlines, making construction project management more efficient and transparent.
The recognition at Startup Days 2025 represents a significant milestone for the two young graduates from Brescia and confirms the role of university education in fueling Lombardy's innovation ecosystem, which, through these initiatives, continues to enhance the combination of talent, technological innovation, and sustainability.
