Following the favourable opinion of the Student Participation Committee, the Academic Senate and the Board of Directors of the University of Brescia have approved the new Regulations on student fees for the 2026/2027 academic year, through which the University reinforces its commitment to ensuring equitable access to higher education.
The main change concerns the extension of the ‘no tax’ threshold for deserving students up to an ISEE of €28,000, a measure that significantly broadens the pool of beneficiaries, who will be exempt from paying university fees. The new Regulations also introduce a strategic measure for the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Nursing, providing for a 25% reduction in the all-inclusive fee for all enrolled students, with the aim of addressing the structural shortage of healthcare staff.
The concessions already provided for the 2025/2026 academic year are confirmed, such as the reduction of up to 50% for students with dependent children or for enrolled siblings (within the prescribed ISEE thresholds), as well as exemptions and concessions linked to merit and the most vulnerable economic circumstances.
University fees remain firmly based on the ISEE, which must be submitted at the time of enrolment or renewal of enrolment and, in any case, by 15 November 2026. In line with this approach and with a broader aim of making the system of the right to education fairer, the Lombardy Region has reformed the regional fee, linking it too to the ISEE. The new structure provides for three amounts (€130, €160, €190) differentiated according to the declared financial circumstances. At the time of enrolment, the minimum amount is payable, with any subsequent adjustment.
The University has also introduced a special measure to support international students from areas affected by recent conflicts. For the 2025/2026 academic year, upon justified request, it will be possible to defer payment deadlines until 30 September 2026, to allow for the continuation of studies in the face of objective financial, documentary and psychological difficulties.
