Alongside the two fundamental objectives of Teaching and Research, and in line with the University’s guidelines, the Department promotes the Third Mission, committing itself to fostering the direct application, enhancement and dissemination of knowledge, with the aim of contributing to the social, economic and cultural development of society.
This area includes activities aimed at transforming the knowledge generated through research into skills, tools and opportunities that are useful to the productive system, including contract research, the creation of new entrepreneurial initiatives and technology transfer. It also encompasses scientific and cultural dissemination initiatives, such as the organization of events, lifelong learning, Public Engagement activities and publications intended for a wider audience.
From this perspective, like every other structure of the University, the Department is committed to communicating and sharing knowledge through a direct and continuous dialogue with the local community and all its stakeholders.
