Validation of previous studies - Scientific area of Medicine Department

Find out how to apply for recognition of prior learning for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes within the Scientific Area of Medicine:

  • Biotechnologies;
  • Medical Biotechnology;
  • Exercise and Sport Science;
  • Science of Movement for Health and Wellbeing

The application must be submitted shortly after enrolment or renewal of enrolment.

The recognition of exams taken during a student’s previous studies is decided by the relevant Degree Programme Board, exclusively upon the student’s request, which must be submitted via the online form available at the link provided at the end of this paragraph.

The procedure requires the mandatory upload of the following documentation:

  • a self-certification of exams passed at another university;
  • syllabi of the modules taken, which are subject to assessment.

The process is completed when the Registrar’s Office uploads the resolution to the student’s secure portal.

If the application is successful, the recognised modules will be recorded in the student’s academic transcript.

If an examination is only partially recognised, it is the student’s responsibility to contact the lecturer in charge of the course, sending them a copy of the resolution and agreeing directly on how to complete the examination.

The form allows the application for recognition to be submitted only once and must be completed exclusively using your institutional email address.
