The term 'Social commitment for the territory' at the University of Brescia encompasses all activities that, from a regulatory perspective, are identified with the term 'Third Mission of the University.'
The Department of Information Engineering has a broad involvement in the 'third mission,' which includes activities such as applied research, technological transfer, cultural activities, public engagement, as well as all promotional and informative activities related to the actions of the Department and its members.
In particular, the DII has carried out and continues to carry out numerous applied research activities on behalf of businesses (so-called third-party contracts), holds numerous patents in various technological fields, and boasts the presence of two technological spin-offs.
