Innovating Higher Education: Strengthening Africa–Italy Collaboration through Joint Pathways for SDGs 2030 and Agenda 2063

Dal 15 al 19 dicembre 2025

The University of Brescia, leader of the TNE UNITAFRICA project, which brings together 99 universities (21 Italian and 78 African), is organising an Advanced Skills course during the week of 15-19 December 2025 entitled:
Innovating Higher Education: Strengthening Africa–Italy Collaboration through Joint Pathways for SDGs 2030 and Agenda 2063.

The course, the result of a joint project between UniBS and eleven African universities, involves teaching and administrative staff with the aim of presenting the different experiences and teaching methodologies between Italy and Africa, the possibilities for synergy between study courses and doctorates, building a systemic vision of knowledge and new bridges between education systems.

The five-day course, which will involve around 40 teachers and administrative staff, will address the following topics:

  • Day 1: Internationalisation of education systems
  • Day 2: Teaching methodologies
  • Days 3 and 4: Thematic modules (Environment, Architecture, Global Health, Agriculture)
  • Day 5: reflections on global citizenship education and conclusions as part of the 22nd edition of the conference organised by CeTAmb, entitled: “Educating for global citizenship for a sustainable planet”.

This initiative demonstrates how open and participatory dialogue, focusing on international cooperation and education between universities, can help shape a more inclusive, prosperous, sustainable and peaceful world for present and future generations.
