The University of Brescia has adopted the ANVUR Internal Quality Assurance system for Teaching, Research and Third Mission activities, as well as for technical and administrative services.
The organisation chart of the quality assurance system, the quality policy and the bodies responsible for quality assurance are described in detail on the following page: University of Brescia Quality Assurance page.
At Department level, the implementation of quality assurance procedures for Teaching, Research and Third Mission activities (Engagement with Society) is the responsibility of the Department Quality Assurance Committee, which is divided into three sections: the Teaching Quality Assurance Committee, the Research Quality Assurance Committee and the Third Mission Quality Assurance Committee.
In addition to the Teaching Quality Assurance Committee, the bodies responsible for quality assurance and evaluation of teaching outcomes are also:
- the Joint Faculty-Student Committee, established by Law no. 240 of 30 December 2010, which is responsible for preparing an annual report evaluating the quality of the Department’s degree programmes by 31 January of each calendar year;
- the Degree Programme Council which, through the Review Committee, composed of quality assurance representatives from each degree programme, is responsible for carrying out the annual review of degree programmes, as required by the ANVUR Internal Quality Assurance system.
At Department level, all these bodies work in synergy:
- Quality Assurance Committees have broader responsibilities regarding the implementation of quality assurance procedures;
- Degree Programme Councils perform both implementation and monitoring functions for the educational offer;
- the Joint Faculty-Student Committee, within the framework of quality evaluation, is responsible for monitoring the educational offer, the quality of teaching activities, and the services provided to students by professors and researchers.
These Department-level bodies operate within an integrated University framework that includes the Evaluation Unit and the University Quality Assurance Committee.
