Health and Safety Service

The Health and Safety Service, part of the Director General’s staff, pursuant to Legislative Decree 81/2008 and subsequent amendments and supplements, and current legislation, is the internal structure of the university that aids the Rector in achieving the best conditions of health and safety at work in co-operation with the Departmental Directors, heads of services, heads of research and teaching and all workers as they have an active part in safety.

The Health and Safety Service indicates and assesses the risks for the health and safety of the work environments, develops the health and safety measures and the use of the protective devices, respecting current legislation, develops the safety procedures for the different types of company work, suggest training programmes on health, takes part in consultations on health and safety protection with the other bodies in the safety management system, ensures support for the Radiation Protection Expert in the performance of the administrative obligations for staff exposed to radiation, the indication of the health and safety measures to adopt in the monitored and controlled areas, and the management of the dosimetry service, including training, and ensures support to the University Medical Officers.
