As part of scientific diplomacy activities aimed at strengthening collaboration between Italy and Senegal, the Italian Embassy in Dakar has invited Prof. Stefano Rinaldi from DII to visit three Senegalese universities: Ecole Supérieure Polytechnique - Université Cheihk Anta Diop in Dakar, Ecole Polytechnique in Thies, and Université Gaston Berger in Saint Louis.
The four-day visit included in-depth discussions with faculty, researchers, and students to explore forms of collaboration and knowledge exchange. The visit commenced with a welcome from the Italian Ambassador in Dakar, Dr. Caterina Bertolini. The Ambassador emphasized the importance of international partnerships for technological advancement in the IoT connectivity sector, benefiting society and contributing to sustainable development.
During the visit, Professor Stefano Rinaldi participated in workshops and engaged in interactive sessions with students and researchers from Senegal's leading universities. Topics ranged from the latest advancements in IoT technologies to practical applications in various sectors, including healthcare, agriculture, and initiatives for Smart Cities.
