TASKS OF THE Internships Committee

Internship Committee

The Internship Committee is part of the CCSA of Industrial Engineering and is responsible for overseeing the implementation of Projects and Curricular Internships.

To fulfill its role, the Internship Committee operates according to the guidelines provided by the CCSA and, in particular:

  • Prepares and updates the regulations to be submitted to the Council for approval;
  • Defines procedures and guidelines for the implementation of Projects and Curricular Internships;
  • Supervises the University Tutor in the approval of individual training projects;
  • Reviews the outcomes of completed internships to ensure that evaluations and academic credits can be officially recorded.

Internships–Projects

From the perspective of credit acquisition, the educational activities labeled "Internship/Project," which are included in the study plans of many students, are treated like any other academic activity: there are exam sessions and a dedicated committee – the Internship Committee – that manages them.

Regarding implementation, two modalities are available:

  • Curricular Internship – Also referred to as Curricular Stage in other institutions – an activity carried out at a Host Organization such as a company, professional firm, public or private institution;
  • Curricular Project – Also referred to as Internal Project (or mistakenly Internal Stage) – an activity carried out with faculty members, university facilities, or research groups at the University of Brescia.

On our e-learning page, you can find all the guidelines and regulations for carrying out "Internship/Project" educational activities for students enrolled in degree programs under the CCSA of Industrial Engineering.

Internship–Project Exam Sessions

The "Internship/Project" educational activity for students enrolled in a degree program under Ministerial Decree 270 is recorded with a pass/fail evaluation (similar to foreign language exams).

For students enrolled in a degree program under Ministerial Decree 509, the activity is recorded with a grade out of thirty, agreed upon with the Tutors.

An exam session is scheduled before each graduation session.

The date is set 3–4 days before the deadline for submitting the graduation application.

The scheduled date and time represent the deadline for submitting the documentation required by the regulations.
