The Edvance project, the first Digital Education Hub for higher education dedicated to Advanced Digital Culture in Italy, kicks off with the official launch of the access portal to all MOOCs of the Edvance network. The new portal aims to be a central platform to facilitate access to advanced digital skills, with a focus on the fields of artificial intelligence, data management, digital sustainability and transdisciplinarity.
Through the portal, users will be able to access more than 200 free online courses, aimed at supporting students, teachers and workers in developing advanced digital skills, within a digital ecosystem that aggregates the training offerings of the 17 partner academic institutions and numerous associates.
Among the first contents available is the course ‘Artificial Vision’ held by Prof. Simone Pasinetti of our University. View the trailer at this link.
The course aims to provide students with a basic knowledge of machine vision systems. Topics include: the description of image acquisition instrumentation (camera, optics, illuminator, acquisition system), the dimensioning of simple vision systems to solve measurement problems typical of the industrial environment, the study of image processing software procedures most commonly used in industry. Through the course, students will learn how to develop a machine vision system from scratch to solve identification, counting and measurement problems.
