MOGM Biosafety Level 3 Laboratory

The MOGM_ Biosafety Level 3 (BL3) laboratory, covering approximately 100 square metres, is equipped and authorised for the handling of biological agents in risk group 3. It is also accredited by the Ministry of Health for the use of genetically modified micro-organisms in classes 1, 2 and 3, in accordance with Legislative Decree 206/01.
The BL3 laboratory is equipped, in particular, with BioHazard fume cupboards, dedicated to the preparation of cell cultures and the production of genetically modified microorganisms, incubators, and a cabinet for housing laboratory animals. The presence of an autoclave enables the decontamination of all material used in the BL3. The Class 3 GMM laboratory is certified to ISO 9001:2015.
The purpose of the laboratory is to enable scientific experiments, both in vivo and in vitro, to be carried out safely with a high level of bio-containment (level 3).
