Joint Student-Teacher Committee - Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering

Law of 30 December 2010, No. 240 – Article 2, Paragraph 2, Letter g)

g) The establishment, in each department or in each of the structures referred to in letters c) and e), without additional burdens on public finances, of a joint faculty-student committee. This committee is responsible for monitoring the educational offerings and the quality of teaching, as well as the services provided to students by professors and researchers. It also identifies indicators for evaluating the outcomes of these activities and provides opinions on the activation and discontinuation of study programs.

Department Regulation – Article 10: Joint Student-Teacher Committee

  1. The Department Joint Faculty-Student Committee (Joint Committee) is composed of faculty members and students representing all components, as indicated in Article 23, Paragraph 11 of the Statute and Article 22 of the General University Regulations.
  2. The Joint Committee periodically evaluates student learning outcomes in terms of satisfaction, personal and professional development, also in relation to employment prospects and the needs of the economic and productive sectors.
  3. Based on quantitative and qualitative evaluation elements provided by the Quality Assurance Office, the Joint Committee periodically formulates proposals aimed at improving the quality and effectiveness of the teaching provided by the Department.
  4. The Joint Committee prepares an annual report and periodically informs the Evaluation Unit of the results of its activities, in accordance with the guidelines and procedures established by ANVUR.
  5. Student members of the Committee are elected for a two-year term. Faculty and researcher members serve a four-year term, except as provided in Paragraph 8.
  6. The Committee is subject to the incompatibility and ineligibility rules established by law and the Statute. In particular, the Department Director, members of the Quality Assurance Office, temporary professors and researchers, and those whose service period is shorter than the term of office may not be part of the Committee.
  7. The Department Council appoints the faculty and researcher members of the Committee upon proposal by the Director.
  8. The Coordinator of the Committee, elected by an absolute majority of its members from among tenured professors and researchers, may invite the Department Director, Presidents of Study Program Councils, and internal or external experts to participate in the Committee’s work, without voting rights.
  9. Committee members who unjustifiably miss three consecutive meetings lose their position, following a warning from the Coordinator after the second unjustified absence.
