The Università degli Studi di Brescia confirms its commitment to improving the quality of student life with the creation of a new break room at the Medicine department in Viale Europa, 11. A welcoming and comfortable space where students can enjoy their meals.

The project is part of a programme to enhance the university environment and involved a comprehensive refurbishment of the existing premises on the ground floor and basement of the building. The work involved both construction and plant engineering, with the aim of recovering spaces that were not fully usable until now.

The room can seat up to 61 students, with an optimised layout to ensure liveability and ergonomics. The walls have been renovated and painted in soft colours in harmony with the University's visual identity. The furnishings include tables of various sizes, ergonomic chairs, high stools and a shaped counter fixed to the wall. Four microwave ovens are available for heating meals. To improve acoustic comfort, sound-absorbing panels made of technical materials capable of reducing reverberation have been installed. The existing toilets have also been refurbished and adapted to ensure accessibility for all categories of users.

The new break room is a model of integration between functionality, well-being and sustainable design, helping to make the campus increasingly welcoming and responsive to the daily needs of the student community.
