Withdrawal from university studies is irrevocable and results in the closure of the university career and loss of student status.
Not attending university activities (lessons, examinations, etc.) is not equivalent to withdrawing from studies, for which it is necessary to submit a specific application.
If you want to withdraw from your studies:
- you must be in order with the payment of university fees and contributions for all academic years of enrollment;
- you must not be in receipt of benefits provided by the Right to Study Service (Scholarships, Canteen and Housing) and must not have any pending debts with the Right to Study Service (scholarship fees to be returned, accommodation or catering fees to be returned);
- you must not have in use books or other materials belonging to the University libraries.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are already enrolled in a degree program at Unibs and want to switch to another course (open access or programmed access - if eligible for admission) follow the procedure for course changing.

WITHDRAWAL FROM STUDIES AND CONTRIBUTION
The date of payment of the stamp duty for withdrawal from studies determines the university contribution due by the student in relation to the due dates for second and third instalments.
Students who have applied for withdrawal and pay the relevant stamp duty in the period from January 1, 2025 to January 15, 2025 are required to pay the amount of €250.00 or the second instalment if it is less than € 250.00. The amount of € 250.00 is not payable in sub-instalments.
Students who withdraw from studies and pay the relevant stamp duty by December 31, 2024, and are enrolled in the academic year 2024/2025, are not required to pay the contribution (second and third instalment) for the academic year 2024/2025.
IF YOU WITHDRAW (see the section HOW TO SUBMIT THE STUDY WITHDRAWAL ONLINE):
- by December 31 you will avoid paying the second and third instalments;
- between January 1 and the due date of the second instalment you will have to pay € 250.00, otherwise you will have to pay the second instalment if its amount is less than € 250.00;
- between the due date of the second and third instalment, you will have to pay the second instalment, but you will avoid paying the third instalment;
- after the due date of the third instalment you will have to pay both the second and third instalment.
Contributions paid if you withdraw from your studies are not refundable unless the withdrawal is submitted within 15 days after the payment of such contributions and within the due dates of such contributions.

RESUMING YOUR STUDIES AFTER WITHDRAWING
If you have withdrawn from your course of studies, you can enrol again in any course you wish to attend following the methods and rules established by the regulations in force for the chosen course.
WITHDRAWAL AND RESUMPTION OF STUDIES BY NON-EU STUDENTS RESIDING ABROAD
If you are not a European Union citizen and you reside abroad (outside the EU), when you present the “Declaration of withdrawal from studies" you forfeit the requisites needed to remain on Italian territory.
If after withdrawing you ask to enrol once again in the same or another University, you cannot use the permit to stay which was released during the previous university career. You must instead carry out pre-enrolment again, contacting Italian Representations in the foreign state of residence.
