Definition of Accident

Any event that, in direct relation to the performance of work, educational-training, or research activities, results in permanent disability (absolute or partial) to carry out one’s work/research/study activities, death, or temporary absolute disability that requires abstention from performing one’s activities for more than three days, excluding the day of the event.

An “in itinere” accident is defined as any harmful event that occurs during the normal route to and from the place of residence and the place of work/research, during the normal route connecting two places of work/research, and, if there is no company canteen service, during the normal route to and from the place of work/research and the usual place of meal consumption.
