Regeneration of Constructions
In the civil area, the urgent need for urban regeneration and construction is now recognised as our cities underwent great development after the Second World War, between the 60s and 80s, when needs were very different from now. Among these, we can mention the new housing needs of a society that has changed considerably, a greater awareness of the seismic risk affecting buildings (historical and modern), in addition to new needs for urban and extra-urban mobility. The large infrastructural works also fit into this context, now obsolete for the current needs of society and, in recent decades, subject to inevitable degradation. Among these, we can mention bridges, the object of great attention in recent years due to the serious structural collapses, designed and built when traffic requirements were considerably lower than the current ones.
