Eduroam
The University of Brescia is a member of the eduroam (Education Roaming) federation. This is a service offering a secure wireless access to the network. Eduroam allows roaming users visiting an institute belonging to the initiative to use the local wireless network (WLAN) using the same credentials (username and password) they would use in their own institution, without needing other formalities at the host institute.
VPN
The VPN (Virtual Private Network) OpenVPN service enables authorised staff to connect to the university network when they are not on site (e.g. at home) through an encoded connection.
CONFIGURATION OF AUTHENTICATED CABLE NETWORKS
Students or guests with a PC without a wireless network card can access the cable ethernet network in the spaces equipped for the purpose using a network cable. The authentication system is the same used for the wireless network.
