Arrangements for teaching activities A.Y. 2024/25

LECTURES

Ordinary study courses

Lectures are held in person. A part of the teaching activity not exceeding 10% of the hours of the individual course may be delivered by telematic means, in compliance with the characteristics of courses with traditional delivery. This percentage is linked to the opportunity to experiment innovative forms of integrated teaching.
Exceptionally, distance learning allowed in the following cases:

  • for international students prevented from physical mobility or awaiting a visa;
  • for students with exceptional changes in their state of health (due to accident, illness, with a prognosis of more than 15 days certified by a general practitioner/specialist affiliated with a public structure;
  • for female students in the last two months of pregnancy and in the three months following childbirth (subject to presentation of appropriate documentation);
  • for teachers in a situation of fragility (pursuant to art. 17, paragraph 2 of Decree Law no. 221 of 24 December 2021, converted with amendments into Law no. 11 of 18 February 2022) certified by the competent doctor.

The lesson timetable therefore takes into account:

  • classroom capacity;
  • possible continuity of commitment on the premises
  • interval of the lesson timetable from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for all macro-areas;
  • in exceptional cases, it is possible to extend lesson times to 7 p.m. and possibly to Saturdays.

Courses of study established in blended mode
The total number of credits delivered online is between 10% and 66% of the course's educational activities, net of practical and laboratory activities.
The lecturer delivers the lessons in the classroom assigned to the course by the teaching calendar and broadcasts the lessons live on MsTeams within the channel dedicated to the course. It is optional for the lecturer to record the lesson. Examinations, workshops and other teaching activities take place in person.

For all courses of study
Each lecturer makes available on the e-learning platform the teaching tools and materials (e.g. slides, handouts, lecture recordings) that he or she deems appropriate for the correct preparation of examinations.

Working students
Teaching tools and materials (e.g. slides, handouts, lecture notes) are made available on the e-learning platform as deemed appropriate to facilitate the studies of working students.

PROFIT EXAMINATIONS

Profit examinations are held in person.

The possibility of holding the examination remotely is ensured:

  • for international students* unable to travel physically or awaiting a visa;
  • for students in the presence of exceptional alterations in their state of health (due to injury, illness) with a prognosis of more than 15 days certified by a general practitioner/specialist affiliated with a public structure (except for a shorter period if it extends beyond the last useful call of the current session), or of frailty (pursuant to art. 17, section 2, of Law Decree no. 221 of 24 December 2021, converted with amendments into Law no. 11 of 18 February 2022) certified by the general practitioner/specialist affiliated with a public structure, notified at least 2 working days before the examination.
  • for female students in the last two months of pregnancy and in the three months following childbirth (subject to presentation of appropriate documentation).

For oral examinations, remote examinations may also be held at times other than at the same time as face-to-face examinations. In this case, the choice of time is the responsibility of the individual examination board.

(*) International students are non-EU students resident abroad enrolled on courses at the University. Students participating in international mobility programmes such as Erasmus/Thesis Abroad do not fall into this category.

LECTURES OF PHD COURSES AND NON-HEALTH SPECIALISATION SCHOOLS

The provisions concerning the manner in which teaching activities are carried out set out in this resolution also apply to the teaching activities of PhD courses and non-health specialisation schools.

MASTER'S LESSONS, FURTHER TRAINING/REFRESHER COURSES ORGANISED BY SMAE

Lessons may be held either in person or at a distance, in line with the course's educational objectives.

MOBILE STUDENTS

It is also possible for those who are preparing their dissertation abroad and have to sit the last profit exam to take it online, subject to the individual peculiarities of the exam that prevent it from being conducted electronically.

DEGREE/FINAL EXAMINATIONS

Degree examinations - three-year, master's degree, single-cycle master's degree - as well as final examinations for PhDs, medical and non-medical specialisations, masters, advanced training/refresher courses are held in person.

In order to allow students who fall within the obstructive conditions referred to in point 3 to sit the final degree examination, the distance examinations may be held at the same time as the in-presence examinations. In this case, the exception to attendance is authorised by the Director of the Department to which the teaching activity belongs.

Students participating in dual-degree programmes can take their final examinations remotely, by connecting telematically from the agreed location.

STUDENT RECEPTION

Each lecturer ensures that students are received in person, in accordance with the published timetable.

Student reception may also be held remotely, by appointment with the lecturer, if the conditions for this are met (see section on "Lectures").

ACTIVITIES OF THE UNIVERSITY LANGUAGE CENTRE

Lessons and tests may be held both in person and at a distance, in line with the course's educational objectives.
