STEM in Genere

“STEM in Genere” project, now in its fourth edition, aims to combat the gender gap in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) thanks to educational and creative workshops, to the benefit of primary and secondary schools in the Province of Brescia and Mantua. The initiative is part of Area 4 of the Gender Equality Plan, which envisages actions aimed at integrating the gender dimension in teaching programmes, with a special focus on University orientation.

The aim of the project, which is supported by local organisations, is to foster equality and equity, to inform and raise awareness on gender issues, stereotypes and discrimination, to stimulate interest in STEM subjects and to provide the youngest students with useful tools for their growth and their educational and professional path, to discover their own ambitions and personal resources.

In addition to the proposals for students, training for teachers and lecturers is planned to disseminate the importance of gender equality within the school context and to encourage an educational model based on inclusion and gender balance.

The documents are only available in Italian.
