REDCap is a secure web application for the creation and management of on-line report databases, including the possibility of creating surveys. Although REDCap can be used to collect almost any type of data in any environment (including compliance with 21 CFR Part 11, FISMA, HIPAA and GDPR), it has been specifically devised to support the creation of medical/health databases with the acquisition of on- and off-line data in clinical or observational studies. Access to RedCap is via a web interface, accessible from both PC and app (Android or iOS). Data can also be entered via app off-line with periodic synchronisation (once connected).

The service is managed by the Biostatistical and Bioinformatics Office (DMMT) and the website is accessible at REDCap

Access method and information

There are essentially two methods of access:

1) The PI will have access to the RedCap service on making request but will manage the creation and management of the project completely autonomously.
2) The PI can request the co-operation of the Biostatistical and Bioinformatics Office staff for the creation and, if necessary, the management of the project.
