Interlibrary services for libraries

INTERLIBRARY LOAN

The University of Brescia libraries only make interlibrary loans to other libraries; requests from private individuals are not accepted.

The service is based on reciprocal and free exchange. Libraries interested in establishing a cooperation relationship are invited to fill in the form for the activation of free reciprocity (below); the proposal will receive a reply as soon as possible.

Requests must be sent to the library concerned via the form available below or via a communication generated by the requesting library's management system, and only exceptionally via e-mail.

Materials reserved for internal consultation, all copies of exam texts (located in the DAS [Right to Study] section) and documents acquired in the last 24 months are excluded from interlibrary loan.

Requests are processed within 3 working days and the volumes are sent by post. Unless otherwise indicated, the material can be loaned to the final user for home use.

Each library may request a maximum of 4 volumes at a time. The loan period is 30 days from the date of registration; only one extension of another 30 days may be granted, provided that the documents have not been reserved.

Upon expiry, the volumes must be returned at the expense of the requesting library.

For damage or violations of the rules resulting from proven causes unrelated to shipping, the following sanctions are applied: if the material is lost or damaged, the requesting library must make compensation and exchanges are suspended; in the event of a delay in the return, cooperation is interrupted until the loaned documents are returned or, in serious and repeated cases, is definitively interrupted.

DOCUMENT DELIVERY

The University of Brescia libraries make Document Delivery to external libraries which request it for their users. Requests from private individuals are not accepted.

The service is based on reciprocal and free exchange. Institutions interested in establishing a cooperation relationship are invited to fill in the form for the activation of free reciprocity between libraries (below); the proposal will receive a reply as soon as possible.

Requests must be sent to the library concerned via the form available below, only exceptionally via e-mail. Libraries taking part in NILDE, ESSPER and SBBL can use these systems as a preferential channel, without having to request the activation of free reciprocity.

Each library can make up to 5 requests per week.

Reproductions are provided in compliance with copyright law (for personal use and within the limits of 15% of the entire volume or journal issue). Documents available as electronic resources are not provided if they are subject to restrictions and prohibitions imposed in the licenses signed with publishers or distributors.

Our interlibrary services generally process requests within one working day, sending the copies via the dedicated electronic systems or preferably via e-mail (if there are no restrictions in this regard).
